Ashton's Graduation, Pueblo, CO
The last of April Bryce and Loralee flew to Colorado and enjoyed several days with Buck, Ashton and her parents, Van and Jeann Newville that flew in from Florida. The morning before Newvilles arrived, Ashton and Buck took us up to the little town (Westcliffe) in the mountains that Ashton's family moved to while she was in high school. Ashton's H.S. graduating class was around 36. We then stopped at a castle, in the town, Rye, some guy is building in his spare time out of whatever he can get his hands on.
Buck's grandparents (Worthens) and his Aunt Katreena and Cousin Serena drove out from Utah also to attend Ashton's graduation. She graduation May 2, 2009 from University of Colorado-Pueblo with a BS in Business Management.

Buck and Ashton
Buck and Ashton are 8 months married, and finally getting to enjoy each other with school done for the semester. Buck has finished the first of four semesters for his RN, and Ashton has one semester left before graduating with her BSBA. Buck is working for a doctor in their ward as an assistant in the Emergency Department. Ashton is still working for T-Mobile as a retail sales representative. Buck is getting to enjoy some bird hunting over the break, although there aren't a lot left in Southern Colorado. Ashton is enjoying catching up with friends and family, and is getting back to cooking and baking- like she's always loved. Buck has a calling teaching Sunday school for 14-17 year olds, as well as a home teacher. Ashton has been called to visiting teach and to be the Young Women's Secretary. Ashton and Buck are also the ward's Young Married event coordinators. All is well with the Colorado Darleys.

And within the ball were two spindles; and the one pointed the way whither we should go into the wilderness." Family Home Evening!!
Monday, August 11, 2008
Family Home Evening (FHE) is where LDS families get together, usually on a Monday night, and study gospel principles, read scriptures, play games or do an activity.
This week we (Bryce, Loralee, Danielle, Dana (Danielle's friend from work) and Trevor went to catch Crayfish (Crawdads) in the Milwaukee River with Bryce's fishing buddy(Josh) and his family (Shana, Grant & Lucie). We have a fun time, wading in the river, turning over rocks, catching Crayfish (really Bryce and Josh were the only ones doing the catching, because we have the wrong animal fat and the Crayfish had not like it so they were catching them with their hands, the rest of us did not want to get pinched) and then coming home boiling the Crayfish and enjoying a little snack before bed. Grant is 4 and loved it, and Lucie 3 was a little indifferent about it but that didn't stop her from playing in the mud.

Christmas In Wisconsin
Individual Happenings!!
Bryce, is still employed by Harley-Davidson and they are still building motorcycles. He is still hunting and has now with the weather turning cold has started ice fishing ( a Wisconsin tradition) in his ice shanty which he received last year for Christmas. He is the ward's executive secretary, which keeps him busy and the phone ringing. He also travels to Chicago regularly and this is because he works in the Chicago Temple;.
Loralee, still cleaning houses and was released as primary pianist and is now teaching the "Sunbeams" which she loves, but not for long in January she will be in charge of the 8-9 year old's activity days.
J.R., Graduated from medical school in May and then moved his family to New Jersey to do his residency. Which keeps him really busy and away from home. Karlie saids that the Hospital is where Daddy lives and he only comes home sometimes to play with her.
Shanna, being an awesome mom with two very active kids. She is primary secretary in their new ward.
Karlie, Potty Trained, Hurray!! She is also loving preschool, being a big sister, dancing and singing, and dressing up like a princess which is her all time favorite.
Nathan, is walking and Running and dancing. He loves to copy his big sister. Also points out all choo, choo, trains and pretends to drive them all over the house.
Buck, started a new job in the ER, is finishing up an associate degree in health care. He's first counseler in the young mens presidency and on a LDS Institute Committee. And that special someone may have come into his life.
Colt, going from just verily passing grades in high school (because he didn't do his homework) to getting 3.7 at BYU-ID. During his off period he sold "DishNetWork" in Stockton, CA.
He was the model for the illustration in the "Ensign" LDS magazine, story on page 63.
Jake, also pulled good grades at BYU-ID and during his off period he sold "Security systems" in Phoinex, AZ. Which led his way to his new job as assistance manager for "Security One".
Danielle, finished high school in January and then with the help of our hometeacher got a job with "Chase bank" in the loan department in Milwaukee. This fall she started school at our local community college. She also earned her Young Women's medalion and starting in January she will be teaching the 6 year olds in Primary.
Trevor, during the summer, he took summer school and so will had enough credits to graduate in June and he made varsity soccer and made one of the first goals. He again help out with the "NutCracker" in the community. He works at McDonald's.
Doobie, got dad out of the house for more pheasent hunting this fall.
Couru, was put on a 10 day house arrest for drawing a little blood on the finger of the "Fed Ex" man. I don't blame her, those drivers in those short shorts and hairy legs, HA!!, HA!!

Our road trip out to Utah.
Dad, Mom and Trevor loaded in van, while Jake and Colt loaded in Grandpa Nielsen's old 1990 camry. That left Danielle home to finish school, work and feed Doobie and Couru. Then Christmas Eve she and Jon (boyfriend) drove down to Shanna's.
We made it out to Utah with only a flat tire on the camry.
We first drove to Cache Valley and spent a week visiting family and friends. Grandma and Grandpa Worthen made sure that include a session in the Logan Temple, (which was awesome knowing that all those that are of age hold temple recomments and we were there with three of them). Trevor went with his cousin to high school.

Christmas at Fishers
After church in Wellsville, Utah we drove to Payson, Utah and had a nice Christmas Eve Party at the Fisher's (Loralee's older sister). We then spent the next few days there. We slept out in their hometeacher's motorhome, because the house was full. Julie's (Loralee's younger sister) husband, Jesus's family was there too.
Christmas morning was quite something, with all of us in Suzanne's familyroom where Santa found us all. After breakfast etc. we headed outside where the guys have a snowball fight, the little kids built snowmen and some tubing on the hill behind their home. Some of the people there had never experienced snow.
That night we went to Katreena's (Bryce's older sister) for her son's birthday, yes he was born on Christmas.
The next day our niece/cousin, Emily was baptized, Trevor got to be a witness.
After some of us drove to the Manti Temple and went through a session. A very beautiful Temple.
Wednesday all headed to Salt Lake City (all but those that Trevor had passed a stomach bug to) There some of us did a session in the Salt Lake Temple. After we met the others and walked around Temple Square. That night those of us (and some cousins and old friends that live in the area) the could met in the S.L.C. Temple again. This time for some sealings, first Jesus' brother and wife were sealed, then their boy was sealed to them. Next Julie's family knelt at the alter as a family and the two boys they adopted were sealed to them. Loralee was able to hold David, one of the boys, at the alter and make should he hand stayed on the rest of the families'. Loralee said after that she could fill through the Holy Ghost that the sealing power is real and that she knows that those two boys and now eternal members of the Jesus and Julie Quispe family.
After we met at a resterant and ate.

The Next Day
The final day in Utah, Julie's family and ours met again on temple square and watched the new movie at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.
Then we walked to the Lion House for a wedding breakfast for a young man, that use to live in our ward in Wisconsin, and his bride to be. There were several friends from Wisconsin there. but we couldn't stay for the wedding, the stomach bug had hit Loralee.
There we separated from Buck, Colt and Jake and they drove back to Cache Valley, then Colt and Jake to BYU-ID and Buck back to Colorado Springs, CO. So after a short stop in Syacruse, Utah to visit an old friend, we headed back, only this time it wasn't as nice of the drive a snow storm hit.
